Long time no see, friends! Sorry I didn't post for a long time. Things has been hectic and I was pretty busy. It's been quite a long time since the last post but I didn't want to stop writing and also had been thinking of renewing my blog so I think it's a good time to create new one now. About my blog here, sometimes readers said it's difficult to post comments from foreign countries because this is provided by Japanese company. So I chose Blogger.com this time so that they can leave comments easily. :) I'm still in busy mood but I'll try to keep it coming like my little diary. くろくまくんのなつやすみ夏の思い出を元に絵本風にしてみました。一見木版ですが実は銅版です。＾＾すごく手のかかるプロセスでしたが、やっぱりぐぐっとプレスされるところが好きです！最近いろいろな分野の方と会える機会が増えました。ひとりの方を知るとそこからまた広がるネットワーク。そして大きな輪のように ひとつにつながっているのです。いろんな方に会い、いろんなことを知ると自分の小ささを思い知ります。そしていままで自分がこうでなくてはいけないんだ、と思い込んでいたことももっと自由でいいんじゃないかな、と気づかせ..日記yuuco2009-08-28T22:30:27+09:00
Today I went to Masayuki Nagare's studio. He had open studio to the public today and I was there as a staff. He is a world famous Japanese stone sculptor, I knew about him and he lives in Kagawa though I had never been to there. His studio was VERY big like a castle or an art museum! He opens his studio to the public only twice a year(cause here is also his home). Luckily, my friend asked me to help her so I could visit there. That was great experience for me! Thank you so much Maron-san! There were so many works in the garden and inside the house. Almost of works outside were bigger than a person. All is so great! Although those were made of stone, the smooth surface made them look like those were not stones. It was cloudy today but on the sunny day, the black stone works look blue reflecting the sky they said. I just imagined it in my mind. Blue sculptures on the grass in the garden, blue sky and spread sea on the back. It reminds me of "Laputa" in "Castle in the sky". That must be so beautiful! I wonder if it looks as if those are made of water. I hope to see it oneday! Inside the house, not only the art works but also there were lots of interesting collections like antiques. The studio is in Aji-cho, East side of the center of the city. Surrounded by lots of nature, mountains on the back and great view of the sea at the front. I was so impressed by the picture like panoramic scenery! There is no wonder why great artists choose here to live and create art works. Another world famous artist, Isamu Noguchi's studio is close to here, too. I'm proud of my town. :) Nagare studio is not always opened but there are some interesting places near here so it's worth to explor in this town. Furniture designer, Geoge Nakashima memorial gallery, Teeth museum, Stone museum are near here and you can see beautiful sea shore, too. :)

I designed this shop card the other day. The name of the shop is "Tento-mushi" means ladybird in Japanese. They have crafts, accesorries, paper goods and breads, sweets, etc, all hand made by the artists. They arrange group show regularly and I'm a regular artist of that. They reformed a part of their house as the shop and it's full of warm, gentle air. :) I wanted to express the warmth and I chose hand writing for the card design. Things are very busy these days and almost of things can be done in a sec conveniently with the internet and e-mails though we'll be back to slow life oneday eventually, the shop's owner said. (I agree! :)) So you can imagine what's this shop like? ;) They told me my postcards made customers want to write letters to their someone special. (You don't know how lots does this words mean to me! I'm so so so happy for this, because you know, your happiness makes me so happy!) I also designed the birthday card for their loyal customers. You'll be surprised by a special sweet card from them on your birthday. ;)

お昼ごはんは izuちゃんオススメのカフェへ izuちゃんは高知に住んでいたことがあり 高知のことも物知りです ランチはカラダにもココロにもやさしいメニューで大満足^^ 白い手打ち蕎麦が最高～！ おだしもすごくおいしくて もちろん蕎麦がきもいただきました ジャズの流れるオシャレなギャラリーカフェでした We had healthy lunch at cafe "pool". Japanese Soba noodle(home made!) was the best! ;9
そのあと市内をてくてく散策
さすが南国土佐 椰子の木がさりげなくここそこに お天気もよく さらりとした風がなんとも気持ちのいい日でした It was a really nice sunny, breezy day. Kouchi faces to the Pasific Ocean and the atmosphere is exotic like a southern land. We could see palm trees here and there in the center of the city as we walked around.
そしてここ！ここははずせません！ホテルそのものも とってもスタイリッシュ こんなビジネスホテルなら･･･何回でも出張したくなるわ！ We also visited a hotel, 7days hotel plus. The interiors of this hotel is collaborated with a great etching artist Makoto Matsubayashi. I'm a huge, huge fan of him!! They use the space of escape steps as an art gallery. His amazing works(big!) are put on the wall of each floor's landing. This place is a MUST place to visit! ;) Of course you can see his works without staying here. Also you will enjoy his works in each room when you stay at this hotel. :)
When I was listening to the radio, a singer song writer was saying like this
I was happy I chose this as my job. In this profession, what we need is not high position or any title. Even if you're rich, that sort of things doesn't matter to sing. All we need is "sing good songs". What important is "essence" of life. Thanks to being a singer, I became to see people like this way, so I'm lucky.

Hi friends! How have you been? Spring is already here and I even think summer is just around the corner. I went to see cherry blossoms the other day. Unfortunately I those flowers had already begun falling down though what I saw there was certainly a dream land. The floating petails in the breeze made me feel like I heard fairies' whispering. The shortness of cherry blossoms' life makes its' beautifulness brand vividly not only on my eyes but also in my heart.

Hi friends! How are you doing? The sun in the day time makes me notice spring is getting close day by day. :) Lately I restarted drawing "my dearest bear" series which I was doing several years ago. This surprized me bcoz I've never expected to draw them again. Why I stopped it has a long story though I had an opportunity to show them to many people recently. Then the people who saw my works said they really loved my works and also said I SHOULD continue this series. I got so many sweet and warm words from them and they moved my heart. Basically I want make people happy with my works. If they could be happy by seeing my works, THAT makes me so happy. That's why I'm doing my arts and "everybody is happy" is my wish. So why don't I continue it? There is no reason to avoid it. I appriciate them to give me a chance to draw them again. May be the art I'm addicted and doing now is a little different from this cute one though both is 'me' and I'm sure I can continue with joy the both way. :)
By the way, St. Valentine's day is only a week away! Are you ready for that? I'm.. I'm not yet but I think I can find special chocolate! In Japan, commonly girls give chocolate to boys who they love. Of course we give it to friends, too. ;) So sweets shops and groceries in Japan in this season are full of cute chocolates. This is a sales strategy of sweets shops you know, these kinds of happy trap is always welcome for me, hehe. ;) How's your country? Let's enjoy this romantic day! Hope you all have a beautiful valentine! :)
